Two Cyclists in St. Croix Suffer Grave Injuries After Hit and Run; Authorities Seek Vehicle

ST. CROIX — Early Sunday morning, near Straker Motors on North Shore Road, a grievous hit and run took place, seriously injuring two cyclists. The incident, reported by the V.I. Police Department, happened around 6:47 a.m., with the vehicle’s driver making a swift exit from the scene after colliding with the bicyclists.

The two affected individuals, a man and a woman, faced dire consequences due to the mishap. Reports confirm that the male cyclist endured a fractured neck and back. The female cyclist, on the other hand, suffered from a shattered back coupled with critical cranial injuries, prominently a brain hemorrhage.

In a bid to provide the victims with specialized medical attention, both were promptly airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital situated in Florida. The VIPD has informed the public that the Traffic Investigation Bureau is in the midst of a rigorous inquiry into the unfortunate event.
