The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on July 14, 2023, that it scheduled a power outage on St. Croix for July 15 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., affecting about 630 customers on Feeder 7B.

WAPA said the 630 customers were expected to be without service for about 30 minutes at the start of the work window while crews isolated the outage area. After that, most customers were expected to have service restored, while about 70 customers were expected to remain without power for about one hour.

The authority said the outage was planned so crews could relocate three-phase lines near Home Depot, allowing the Department of Public Works to complete a new road in Estate Clifton Hill along Melvin Evans Highway.
