Government House said FY 2019 negotiated pay increases were being processed for central government agencies
Government House said on August 16, 2019, that negotiated pay increases under existing collective bargaining agreements were being processed for several central government departments and agencies in fiscal year 2019.
According to the Office of Collective Bargaining and the Office of Management and Budget, the departments and agencies were in varying stages of completing the steps needed to process the increases.
The increases were retroactive to October 1, 2018. Agencies also were required to process miscellaneous pay for retroactive amounts owed to employees.
Government House said 21 departments and agencies were covered by the negotiated increases and that, under Act No. 8123, the Office of Management and Budget had provided supplemental funding to 17 of them.
The agencies listed as already processed were the Virgin Islands Police Department, Virgin Islands Fire Service, Department of Education, Department of Planning and Natural Resources, Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Department of Finance, Office of Veterans Affairs, Department of Property and Procurement, Department of Labor, Department of Public Works, Bureau of Corrections, Department of Agriculture, Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs, and VITEMA.
