WAPA scheduled brief power interruptions on St. Croix for May 31 and June 5, 2023

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on May 29, 2023, that customers on several St. Croix feeders were scheduled to experience momentary electrical interruptions during work near the Midland Substation on Melvin Evans Highway.
WAPA said feeders 10A, 10B, 9B, 8B, 9A and 6B were set for brief outages at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, and again at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023.
According to the notice, the interruptions were planned so crews could de-energize and isolate the work zone while contractors performed work on manholes on Melvin Evans Highway.
