Bryan proposed increasing retroactive wage repayment funding to $40 million
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. submitted a measure to the 34th Legislature on Aug. 15, 2022, seeking to increase funding for repayment of retroactive wages owed to government employees to $40 million from $25 million.
Government House said updated revenue forecasts led Bryan to seek the higher appropriation. It said the government's total obligation for retroactive wages was about $175 million and that the proposal would reduce that amount by $40 million.
Government House said Bryan had previously submitted legislation on July 12, 2022, to authorize the first $25 million payment.
