WAPA scheduled December 2019 hearings on revised Integrated Resource Plan

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on November 22, 2019, that it would hold public hearings in December on a revised Integrated Resource Plan outlining its generation strategy through 2044.

WAPA said the plan was prepared by engineering consulting firm Black & Veatch to evaluate power-supply options for the separate systems on St. Croix and on St. Thomas-St. John.

The authority scheduled hearings for 6 p.m. on December 3, 2019, at the UVI Administration and Conference Center first-floor conference room on St. Thomas; December 4, 2019, at the Cleone H. Creque Legislative Conference Room on St. John; and December 5, 2019, at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital Cardiac Center on St. Croix.

WAPA said written comments on the proposed plan could be emailed to communications@viwapa.vi through December 11, 2019.
