Low water levels disrupted potable water service from mid-island to Frederiksted on St. Croix

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on October 29, 2018, that low water levels at the Kingshill and Mountain storage tanks were continuing to disrupt potable water service on St. Croix.

WAPA said the low tank levels stemmed from earlier events that affected the Contentment and Concordia pump stations.

Customers from mid-island to the western end of St. Croix, including Frederiksted town, were experiencing little to no water service, according to the authority. WAPA said customers in higher-elevation areas were experiencing no water service.

The authority said the disruption would continue until water levels were restored in the Kingshill and Mountain tanks.
