Lionel Roberts Stadium outfield opened for parking after Fort Christian lot closure for Carnival Village

St. Thomas-Water Island Administrator Avery Lewis announced on April 5, 2019, that the outfield area of Lionel Roberts Stadium would open for free parking beginning April 8, 2019, as the Fort Christian parking lot closed in preparation for the 2019 Carnival Village.

The alternative parking was designated for downtown Charlotte Amalie workers and the general public. Parking was scheduled to be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No parking was allowed on Saturdays, Sundays or during inclement weather.

Vehicles were required to leave the stadium by 6 p.m. on weekdays. The notice said vehicles left after hours would be subject to a traffic citation and towing at the owner's expense. A parking attendant was to be present during operating hours, and the Virgin Islands Police Department advised motorists to follow instructions.

Lewis said the public would be notified in advance of any changes to the arrangement.
