Bryan extends USVI telehealth provider survey deadline to Dec. 11, 2020
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. extended the deadline for doctors and telehealth providers to submit the USVI Telehealth Provider Survey to Dec. 11, 2020, according to a Government House announcement published Nov. 6, 2020.
The Office of the Governor said it distributed the survey in October 2020 to assess how prepared local doctors and health-care providers were to use telehealth technology beyond traditional clinical settings.
Government House said only a fraction of providers had submitted responses by Nov. 6, 2020. The survey was intended to measure telehealth capacity and identify gaps, including information-technology staffing, software and hardware needs, and health information exchange capacity.
The survey was emailed to doctors and health-care providers across the territory and was also made available online. Government House said responses were confidential and that the survey took about five minutes to complete.
The announcement said Dr. Julia Sheen, the administration's health and human services policy adviser, recommended that a senior administrator in each practice complete the survey because it covered facility information, telehealth capacity and health information exchange capacity.
