Mapp issues condolence statement on death of former First Lady Barbara Bush

Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp issued a condolence statement on April 17, 2018, following the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush.

Mapp said he was offering condolences to the Bush family and to Americans mourning her death. He also said Bush "epitomized grace and dignity" and cited her work in the national literacy movement.

Mapp said he had met Bush when she visited St. Croix with then-Vice President George H.W. Bush.
