WAPA board scheduled emergency meeting for Nov. 14, 2018

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority’s governing board scheduled an emergency meeting for Nov. 14, 2018, at 3:45 p.m. in the Al Cohen Conference Room on St. Thomas.

According to the posted agenda, the board was set to consider several financing and bond-related action items. Those included extending the maturity date of WAPA Electric System Subordinated Bond Anticipation Notes, Series 2016A; authorizing issuance of Electric System Bond Anticipation Notes, Series 2018B, to refund the Series 2016A bond anticipation note used to finance the streetlight project; and increasing the principal amount and extending the maturity of Electric System Bond Anticipation Notes, Series 2018C, tied to Community Disaster Loans.

The agenda also listed action related to the resignation of The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A., as trustee under the authority’s Electric Revenue Bond Resolution and the appointment of UMB as the new trustee.
