WAPA received Cigna Gold healthy workforce designation for 2023

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on February 22, 2024, that it had received Cigna's 2023 Healthy Workforce Designation at the Gold level, marking the second consecutive year the utility was recognized under the program.

WAPA said the 2023 Gold designation was an increase from the Bronze designation it received the previous year.

According to the authority, the designation reflected employee health and wellness efforts that included workplace initiatives, webinar sessions, in-person workshops for employees and their families, and participation in fitness activities hosted by the Virgin Islands government's Personnel Division, including Battle of the Agencies.

Cigna said the designation evaluates organizations on elements of workplace well-being programs including leadership and culture, program execution, and policies and accommodations.
