Bryan signs three-year wage agreement with teachers union

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. signed a three-year wage agreement with American Federation of Teachers Local 1826 in the St. Croix District and Local 1825 in the St. Thomas-St. John District, according to a Government House statement published March 2, 2022.

The agreement provided salary increases for professionals, paraprofessionals and support staff. Government House said the contract was effective from September 1, 2020, through August 31, 2023.

Rosa Soto-Thomas, president of AFT Local 1826 on St. Croix, said the successor agreement was ratified by members in both districts on January 28, 2022.
