The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on May 15, 2023, that it would not carry out service disconnections on May 16, 2023, because of reduced business hours tied to an employee-wide meeting.

WAPA said business offices on St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John would maintain normal hours.

The authority said disconnections for unpaid bills would resume on May 17, 2023.

Customers were told they could continue making payments by phone, online, or at FirstBank, Banco Popular and Bank of St. Croix branches.
