WAPA scheduled road closure and water outage for May 22 on St. Croix
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said Queen Mary Highway west of the Emancipation Drive intersection on St. Croix was scheduled to close in both lanes on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WAPA said motorists traveling west along Queen Mary Highway, also known as Centerline Road, were advised to use alternate routes during that period. Traffic control and flaggers were to be on site.
The authority also said a planned water interruption was scheduled for May 22 from about noon to 8 p.m. in Smithfield, White Lady, White Bay, Stony Ground, Two Brothers, Mars Hill and Wheel of Fortune.
WAPA said the closure and outage were tied to a waterline tie-in for the Hannah's Rest Waterline Rehabilitation project.
