The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said its human resources department received a Gold-level Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation at an event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 17, 2024.

WAPA said the award marked the second consecutive year that Cigna recognized the authority’s employee health and wellness efforts. The authority said it had received a Bronze designation in 2023.

WAPA said Human Resources Director Sabrina King-Leonce, Assistant Director Brenda Aloyo and Compensation and Benefits Analyst Shania Milligan attended the Fort Lauderdale event.

According to the authority, the Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation evaluates organizations on elements of employee well-being programs, including leadership and culture, program foundations, policies and accommodations.
