St. Croix administrator scheduled town cleanups in Frederiksted and Christiansted

The Office of the St. Croix Administrator said on November 18, 2019, that cleanup work was scheduled in Frederiksted on November 21 and in Christiansted on November 22.

The office said crews from the Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority, Department of Public Works, Virgin Islands Fire Service and Virgin Islands Police Department would pick up trash and pressure-wash sidewalks in both towns between 8 a.m. and noon.

In Frederiksted, the work was scheduled along Strand Street from the Athalie Petersen Public Library to the Eliza James McBean Clock Tower at Buddhoe Park. The nonprofit Our Town Frederiksted was set to participate.

In Christiansted, the work was scheduled from Bassin Triangle to Times Square. The Christiansted Restaurant and Retail Association was set to participate.

St. Croix Administrator Sammuel Sanes said no street closures were planned, but motorists were asked not to park along the affected streets until the work was completed.

Sanes also said additional town cleanup events would be announced later in 2019.
