Bryan issued proclamation recognizing nurses during National Nursing Week and National Nursing Month
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a proclamation on May 5, 2021, recognizing nurses in the U.S. Virgin Islands in observance of National Nursing Week from May 6 through May 12 and National Nursing Month during May.
In the proclamation, Bryan said nurses' work had been highlighted by their service on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Government House statement said the 2021 theme for the commemoration was "You Make a Difference." It also cited the American Nurses Association as saying there are 4 million registered nurses in the United States and noted that the organization first declared May 6 through May 12 as National Nurses Week in 1993.
Bryan called on Virgin Islanders to honor registered nurses and recognize their contributions to health care.
