The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said 30 employees graduated during the week of July 18, 2022, from a three-year PowerLine Workers Apprenticeship Program and became certified electrical lineworkers.

WAPA said the program was certified by the U.S. Department of Labor. Electric Cities of Georgia, a nonprofit organization, provided strategic and technical training during the three-year program.

The authority said funding for employees to complete the program came from two grants awarded by the U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs.
