The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on December 13, 2022, that a utility lineman was not involved in an incident on St. John that had been reported otherwise in the St. Croix Avis.
According to WAPA, a St. John homeowner was injured on December 12, 2022, while trimming a tree from a metal ladder when a cut branch contacted a single phase of a primary power line. WAPA said the homeowner suffered a shock and a burn injury to his hand and was taken for medical treatment.
