Bryan announced death of VIFEMS Director Daryl A. George Sr.

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on October 24, 2023, that Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services Director Daryl A. "Mousy" George Sr. had died.

In a statement, Bryan said George had served as a firefighter and first responder and had advocated for the merger of the Virgin Islands Fire Service and the Virgin Islands Emergency Medical Services to create VIFEMS.

Bryan ordered flags across the territory flown at half-staff until sunset on October 25, 2023, in George's honor.
