Bryan names Richard Evangelista commissioner of Licensing and Consumer Affairs
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. on April 5, 2019, named attorney Richard Evangelista commissioner of the Virgin Islands Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs.
Government House said Evangelista was serving as an assistant attorney general in the Justice Department’s Paternity and Child Support Division at the time of the appointment. It said he had nearly 25 years of legal and managerial experience in the Virgin Islands government.
Bryan said the appointment was intended to improve DLCA processes and make licensing more efficient for new and existing businesses.
Evangelista said he planned to continue work on the department’s automated licensing process and customer service.
Government House said Evangelista is a graduate of American University and Howard University School of Law.
