Virgin Islands Port Authority reports airports open and seaports closed amid Tropical Storm Laura

The Virgin Islands Port Authority said on August 22, 2020, that airports in the U.S. Virgin Islands were open and operating normally as Tropical Storm Laura affected the territory.

United Airlines canceled its August 22 flight to St. Thomas, and the port authority advised travelers to check directly with their airlines for flight information before going to the airport.

The U.S. Coast Guard closed seaports across the territory on August 22, and the port authority said they were expected to remain closed until August 23.
