The nine appointees were Dr. Haldane Davies, chairman; Melonie Gomez, vice chairwoman; Asiah Clendenin-Gumbs, secretary; Joel Holt; Henry Smock; Kenneth Hermon; Dr. Valdemar Hill Jr.; Edward Thomas; and Frank Abednego.

Government House said three members were nominated by the Legislature president, three by the chief justice of the Virgin Islands Supreme Court and three by the governor, each for four-year terms.

The commission was tasked with conducting a compensation review and study for the specified positions, researching the issue, interviewing officeholders and holding public hearings. A final report with recommended pay levels was due to the governor, chief justice, Senate president and the public by May 31, 2022.
