OMB sought updated addresses to deliver remaining Social Security stipend checks
The Virgin Islands Office of Management and Budget said on March 20, 2023, that it was trying to distribute Social Security stipend checks to recipients whose address information was incorrect or incomplete.
Government House said a list of recipients' names would be published in the Virgin Islands Daily News on March 20, 22, 24, 25 and 27, 2023, and on the newspaper's website through April 7, 2023.
Residents whose names appeared on the list were asked to send their full name, the last four digits of their Social Security number and a complete mailing address to ssi@omb.vi.gov by April 7, 2023.
Residents without email access were directed to contact the administrator's office on their island: 340-773-1404 on St. Croix, 340-776-6484 on St. John, or 340-693-4350 on St. Thomas.
Government House said checks tied to information not received by the deadline would expire and be returned to the Department of Finance.
