The Virgin Islands Department of Public Works said it would distribute sandbags on August 28, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. ahead of Tropical Storm Dorian and a territorywide curfew ordered by Gov. Albert Bryan Jr.
The curfew was set for August 28, 2019, from 12 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Public Works said sandbags would be available on St. Croix at the department's Annas Hope and Mars Hill sites, and at the Grove Place and Cotton Valley fire stations. On St. Thomas, distribution was scheduled at the department's Subbase site. On St. John, distribution was scheduled at the department's Susannaberg site.
The department said households would be limited to 10 bags each. It also said pre-filled sandbags would be available for elderly residents and people with disabilities and other access and functional needs.
