Bryan ordered U.S. flags in the Virgin Islands flown at half-staff for Edgar M. Iles
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. said during the Government House weekly press briefing on Oct. 4, 2021, that all U.S. flags in the Virgin Islands were to be flown at half-staff in memory of former Sen. Edgar M. Iles.
Government House said the flags should remain at half-staff from sunrise until sunset and be lowered at the end of the day unless the flagpoles were properly lit at night.
Bryan described Iles as a Korean War veteran, a former four-term senator, a Rotarian and a 40-year employee of the Virgin Islands government.
