Bryan nominates Delia Thomas as Virgin Islands inspector general
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. said during the Government House weekly briefing on Sept. 12, 2022, that he had nominated Deputy Inspector General Delia Thomas to serve as the next Virgin Islands inspector general.
Thomas, a St. John native, has worked in the Office of the Inspector General since the agency’s creation. Her nomination was sent to the 34th Legislature for confirmation.
During the same briefing, Bryan said an online portal for retroactive pay had gone live on Sept. 12, 2022, allowing government employees to check whether they were entitled to retroactive wages and the amount they would receive.
Officials also said the territory had no confirmed monkeypox cases as of Sept. 12, 2022, with one test pending, and the Health Department said it was tracking 156 active COVID-19 cases.
