Mapp administration launched website to track U.S. Virgin Islands recovery funds

Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp announced on May 24, 2018, that the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority had launched the USVI Hurricane Recovery website to track nearly $2 billion in federal disaster funding awarded to the territory. The total did not include $243 million in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

According to Government House, the website provided data on Federal Emergency Management Agency funding through the Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, Community Disaster Loans and Hazard Mitigation Grant programs, as well as Small Business Administration disaster loans.

Government House said visitors could track funds by program and by hurricane. For FEMA Public Assistance, the site also allowed tracking by island, grant category and applicant, including government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Information on the website was to be updated monthly.

The administration said the website also included information on HUD Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery funding.
