WAPA took part in disaster preparedness expo for seniors and people with disabilities

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it participated in the 2023 Disaster Preparedness Expo held on St. Thomas on August 25, 2023, and on St. Croix on August 29, 2023.

According to WAPA, the event brought together government agencies and businesses to discuss disaster preparedness with seniors and people living with disabilities.

WAPA said its representatives shared disaster-preparedness information and distributed flyers on downed power lines, energy conservation and how to sign up for WAPA alerts. The authority said attendees also were able to enroll in the alert system during the expo.
