Roach says 2022 property tax bills affected by new billing system transition

Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach said during the June 14, 2022, Government House briefing that distribution of 2022 property tax bills had begun under a new billing and collections system implemented in May.

Roach said the Office of the Lieutenant Governor was addressing problems tied to the transition, including reassessments based on property improvements from 2018 through 2022 and sales data, sewer fee balances appearing on some government property bills, incorrect condo millage rates, amnesty-period payments not yet reflected on some bills, and missing homestead tax credits.

He said the Real Property Tax Division had corrected some errors in its internal system and would issue supplemental bills to affected property owners.

Roach also said property owners who had not received a 2022 tax bill should contact the Office of the Tax Assessor to verify their mailing address.
