Bryan proclamation set government holidays and administrative leave for 2019-20 Christmas Festival season
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a proclamation on December 17, 2019, designating government holidays and administrative leave for the 2019-20 Christmas Festival season.
The proclamation granted administrative leave to non-essential government employees. It did not apply to essential employees, employees on regular or rotating shifts, or employees on annual or sick leave.
The designated government holidays were December 25, 2019, for Christmas Day; December 26, 2019, for Christmas Second Day; January 1, 2020, for New Year’s Day; and January 6, 2020, for Three Kings’ Day.
The proclamation also granted territory-wide administrative leave from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 24, 2019, for Christmas Eve; from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 31, 2019, for New Year’s Eve; and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January 3, 2020, for the Children’s Parade on St. Croix.
For St. Croix only, the proclamation granted administrative leave from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on January 2, 2020, for the St. Croix Festival Food, Arts and Crafts Fair.
