Government House scheduled fourth USVI Community Business Forum with Royal Caribbean for June 16, 2021

Government House announced on June 9, 2021, that it and Royal Caribbean Group would hold the fourth session of the USVI Community Business Forum on June 16, 2021, focusing on the cruise company’s expected return to the territory during the summer of 2021.

The virtual forum was scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Zoom, with a livestream on Government House’s Facebook page.

According to the announcement, speakers were set to include Jayne Halcomb, Royal Caribbean Group’s director of business and destination development for the Caribbean and the Americas; Elisa Shen, associate vice president of onboard revenue and hotel operations for Royal Caribbean International; Health Commissioner Justa Encarnacion; and Territorial ADA Coordinator Julien Henley.

Government House said the forum was aimed at Virgin Islands business owners, entrepreneurs and others interested in starting businesses tied directly or indirectly to tourism or hospitality.

The announcement said the forum series began in December 2020 and focused on economic and workforce development in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
