Ulla Muller and Pearl B. Larsen schools resumed in-person classes after temporary COVID-19 closures
Government House said on September 13, 2021, that the Ulla Muller School on St. Thomas and the Pearl B. Larsen School on St. Croix had resumed in-person learning after temporary COVID-19 closures days after classes restarted.
The Virgin Islands Department of Education had resumed in-person instruction on September 7, 2021, for pre-K through third-grade students, C-TEC students and special education students in public schools. Students in fourth through 12th grades remained in virtual learning.
At the same briefing, Government House said Virgin Islands families eligible for the Child Tax Credit had begun receiving advance payments and that the Bureau of Internal Revenue and Department of Finance planned to issue a second round of monthly payments during the week of September 13, 2021.
Government House also said the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority had begun issuing Emergency Rental Assistance Program payments to 517 eligible families and individuals.
During the briefing, officials also announced a virtual town hall for Water Island residents scheduled for September 15, 2021.
