The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on May 31, 2024, that road work and water-system repairs on Vester Gade on St. John would continue into the following week.

WAPA said the westbound lane near Uncle Joe's Barbecue reopened at 3 p.m. on May 31 after excavation work.

The authority said the lane closure would resume on June 1 from 10 a.m. to about 4 p.m. so crews could complete repairs to a damaged pipe. It said water service would be interrupted on Vester Gade from the intersection of Vester Gade and Prindsens Gade to Mongoose Junction during that work.

WAPA said the lane closure would resume again on June 3 from 10 a.m. to about 4 p.m. for excavation and road repairs. It said no water interruption was planned for June 3.
