Bryan executive order extended eviction moratorium through Dec. 31, 2021
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued the 28th supplemental executive order on Sept. 24, 2021, extending the U.S. Virgin Islands moratorium on evictions through Dec. 31, 2021.
The order also removed limits on the number of people who could attend funerals, while keeping in place requirements covering houses of worship, face coverings, mass gatherings and business restrictions.
It also clarified sports protocols without changing existing rules. Training for high-risk contact sports, including football, basketball and volleyball, was allowed as long as no player contact occurred, but games and organized group events for those sports remained banned.
For low-risk sports, including baseball, softball, bowling, golf, cross-country, swimming, tennis, table tennis, pool, track and field, and competitive cheerleading, training, games and organized group events were allowed as long as no player contact occurred and masking, social distancing and mass-gathering guidelines were followed.
The order also suspended laws and rules on private vehicle inspections through March 15, 2022, unless lifted earlier.
Government House said the changes took effect immediately.
