Kevin Rodriquez named to oversee St. Thomas-Water Island district during Avery Lewis leave

Government House said on May 22, 2024, that Deputy Chief of Staff Kevin Rodriquez would assume the duties of St. Thomas-Water Island district administrator during Administrator Avery Lewis' leave of absence.

The administration said Lewis took leave after deciding to seek a seat in the 36th Legislature of the Virgin Islands. Under 18 V.I.C. § 2, candidates for the Legislature are required to take a leave of absence from their government duties. Government House said Lewis filed his nomination papers on May 21, 2024.

Rodriquez was to continue serving as deputy chief of staff while taking on the interim district role.
