Government House announces winners of health-care worker vaccination lottery
Government House announced on October 12, 2021, the winners of a special lottery for fully vaccinated health-care workers in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Eligible workers in each district could win a $25,000 first prize, a $10,000 second prize or a $5,000 third prize.
On St. Croix, the winners were Rebecca Bailey of Juan F. Luis Hospital, first prize; Tiesha Ballantine of Juan F. Luis Hospital, second prize; and Eugenie Graham of Frederiksted Health Center, third prize.
In the St. Thomas-St. John District, the winners were Roberta Francis-Thomas of Schneider Hospital, first prize; Jessica Wilson of Schneider Hospital, second prize; and Duanne Jones of VI Dental Center, third prize.
At the same briefing, Communications Director Richard Motta Jr. said the territory had 161 active COVID-19 cases as of October 12, including 134 on St. Croix, 25 on St. Thomas and two on St. John.
