Administrative leave granted for government employees during 2018 Virgin Islands Carnival
Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp granted administrative leave for government employees during portions of the 2018 Virgin Islands Carnival, according to a proclamation issued on April 20, 2018.
For employees in the St. Thomas-St. John District, leave was granted on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from noon to 5 p.m. for Food, Arts and Craft Fair Day, and on Thursday, April 26, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for J’ouvert.
Administrative leave also was granted on Friday, April 27, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for non-essential employees across the territory for the Children’s Parade.
Most government offices were scheduled to be closed during those periods.
The Carnival Village, officially named Judy’s Gypsyville, was scheduled to open at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018.
