Bryan appoints Antonio Stevens director of Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Service
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on Feb. 13 that Antonio Stevens had been appointed director of the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Service during the weekly Government House briefing on St. Thomas.
Stevens had been serving as acting director after the death of former VIFEMS Director Daryl "Mousy" George in November 2023.
According to Government House, Stevens joined the Virgin Islands Fire Service in 2006 and previously served as VIFEMS territorial hazardous material and weapon of mass destruction coordinator.
Government House said Stevens holds an associate degree in criminal justice and a bachelor's degree in homeland security and emergency management from Colorado Technical University.
Following the announcement, Stevens said, "Thank you to Gov. Albert Bryan and Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach for giving me the opportunity to lead this service. I would also like to thank the men and women of the VIFEMS and I ask for their continued support."
