Hurricane recovery task force scheduled community meeting on St. John for April 24, 2018

The Hurricane Recovery and Resilience Task Force scheduled a community meeting on St. John for April 24, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Julius E. Sprauve School Auditorium.

The announcement followed three meetings on St. Croix held on April 16, 2018, at UVI’s Great Hall, April 17, 2018, at Friedensberg Moravian Church, and April 18, 2018, at Canegata Ballpark. More than 50 people attended each meeting, according to Government House.

Representatives from the Red Cross, FEMA and the VIHFA Emergency Home Repairs program set up resource tables at the St. Croix meetings to provide applications and other materials related to relief efforts.

According to the announcement, attendees offered project recommendations on recovery issues including housing, health, the economy and education. Government House said those recommendations would be used to help inform a future recovery roadmap.
