Water service interruption scheduled for Oct. 12 from Nadir to Thomasville on St. Thomas
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said a scheduled potable water service interruption on St. Thomas was set for Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The outage was expected to affect customers from Nadir to Thomasville, including the Bovoni housing community and the campus of Bertha Boschulte Middle School.
WAPA said the interruption was needed to allow Island Roads Corp. to connect a 12-inch water main near Turpentine Run Bridge to an existing 6-inch main serving the area around Nadir Circle.
The work was part of the Turpentine Run Bridge project being carried out by the Department of Public Works, which involved relocating existing water and power utilities.
