Bryan proclaimed Oct. 11 as Virgin Islands-Puerto Rico Friendship Day

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a proclamation on Oct. 8, 2021, designating Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, as Virgin Islands-Puerto Rico Friendship Day.

In the proclamation, Bryan said the Virgin Islands had been enriched by the settlement of many people from Puerto Rico and said their contributions had helped drive the territory's economic and political progress.

He also said the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico had a long relationship as relatives, neighbors, business partners and fellow Americans, and said the relationship had been mutually beneficial economically, financially and politically.
