Bryan names William Harvey St. Croix chief of police

Gov. Albert Bryan announced on February 18, 2019, that former Virgin Islands Police lieutenant William "Billy" Harvey had been named St. Croix district chief of police for the Virgin Islands Police Department.

According to Government House, Harvey served 23 years with the department as a patrol sergeant, Drug Enforcement Administration drug task force supervisor, training supervisor, zone commander, traffic commander and territorial training director.

Government House said Harvey also served in the Virgin Islands National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve, including as a military police officer and military corrections officer. It said he was deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and served in Kuwait, Kosovo and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
