WAPA board scheduled monthly meeting for April 30, 2020

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on April 27, 2020, that its governing board would hold its regular monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020, by teleconference.

According to the notice, the agenda included action items from the Planning and Economic Development Committee and the Finance and Audit Committee, along with the executive director’s report and an executive session on a legal matter.

Items listed for consideration included approval of the Water Systems Master Plan; the Christiansted Waterline Rehabilitation Phase Two project; the Container Port underground construction and installation project; the Midland Underground Project; the Golden Grove Underground Project; an amendment to a memorandum of agreement between WAPA and viNGN for the broadband project; and final approval of a contract award to Wartsila for general construction tied to the Harley Power Plant expansion on St. Thomas.

The finance agenda included Unit 17 gas turbine emergency repairs change order No. 1, the Finance Division’s policy and procedures manuals, an extension of contract for Sustainable Capital Advisors LLC, ratification of Willis of Florida Inc., a Microsoft enterprise agreement, the authority’s comprehensive fiscal recovery plan, and approval of an arbitration decision in a union matter involving the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority Employees Association and UWUA Local 602.
