Bryan scheduled second Territorial Day of Prayer for April 13
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. scheduled the U.S. Virgin Islands’ second annual Territorial Day of Prayer for April 13, 2021, as a service focused on protection against COVID-19 and the well-being of residents.
Government House said the service was set for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and would include faith leaders from various houses of worship in the territory. Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach and First Lady Yolanda Bryan also were scheduled to participate.
Government House said a second event tied to the Day of Prayer was planned for April 14, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., when Roach would host faith leaders and Department of Health officials for a discussion about COVID-19, available vaccines and the territory’s vaccination effort.
In the statement, Government House said more than 30,000 people in the territory had been vaccinated as of the previous week, compared with Bryan’s February 2021 goal of 50,000 vaccinations by July 2021. The statement also said the Health Department had tested more than 91,000 people for the virus since April 2020 and that 26 residents had died from COVID-19.
Government House said both events would be broadcast on Government Access Channel 27 and the Government House Facebook page.
