Virgin Islands issued more than $5.1 million in income tax refunds to 1,548 filers

Government House said on April 25, 2024, that the Virgin Islands had issued about $5.16 million in income tax refunds to 1,548 residents.

According to the announcement, the refunds totaled $911,386 for 200 filers for tax years 2018 and earlier, $297,549 for 105 filers for tax year 2019, $2,784,533 for 982 filers for tax year 2020, and $1,167,565 for 261 filers for tax year 2021.

The administration said the refunds covered filings submitted by the April 19, 2022 deadline for the 2021 tax year. It said refunds for filings before 2021 were largely tied to later-filed returns or returns resolved after audits.
