Bryan granted administrative leave for non-essential government employees on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on Dec. 20, 2020, that non-essential Virgin Islands government employees would receive a full day of administrative leave on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, and Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.

Government House said the Dec. 24 leave was in accordance with a White House executive order excusing employees of executive departments and agencies of the federal government from duty that day.

Under the governor’s order, government offices were to be closed to the public on Dec. 24, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2020. Agency heads were directed to determine which employees were considered essential or non-essential.
