Bryan names Wynnie Testamark director of Bureau of Corrections
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on Feb. 9, 2019, that Wynnie Testamark had been named director of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections.
Testamark, a St. Thomas native, was described by Government House as a 29-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department, where she retired as an executive lieutenant. The administration said she also was chief executive of WTS Consultant Services, a criminal-justice consulting firm.
According to the announcement, Testamark served in Miami-Dade as an accreditation manager, Prison Rape Elimination Act coordinator and safety officer. Government House said she had twice visited the territory during her career to provide consulting and guidance on the federal consent decree, accreditation and other compliance matters.
Government House said Testamark is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy and holds a master’s degree in management with a specialization in human resources and a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership, both from St. Thomas University.
