WAPA said employees’ personal social-media posts did not represent authority leadership
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on June 20, 2020, that statements made by employees on privately owned social-media accounts and other public forums did not reflect the views of the authority’s governing board, senior leadership team or management.
In the statement, attributed to Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Lawrence J. Kupfer, WAPA said management and senior leadership employees were not encouraged to make unpopular, politically incorrect or inflammatory statements.
WAPA also said it expected employees to conduct themselves in a manner aligned with what it described as the reasonable expectations of the Virgin Islands community.
